As a co-scenic designer for the 50th-anniversary graduation ceremony of CalArts in 2023, my partner and I were responsible for creating the theme, narrative, and overall vibe of the event, and designing the stage for the ceremony.

This year’s theme is ''water'', which embodies the ever-changing journey of students at CalArts. Much like a flowing stream, life at CalArts is in a constant state of evolution as we navigate our studies and experiences, connecting with the diverse community around us. Just as water transforms as it travels through various landscapes, we, too, are transformed by our experiences, becoming different versions of ourselves, branching off into new paths and forms. This theme reflects the fluidity of our journey, symbolizing growth and adaptation as we flow back into the world beyond CalArts.
