Chrysalis
2018
Arches Watercolor Paper
33*15*13 cm
This paper craft artwork embodies the theme of rebirth and preparation, taking the form of a chrysalis to signify the anticipation of transformation into a vibrant butterfly. The shadow cast by the light mimics butterfly wings, emphasizing the wait for the perfect moment to embrace a new future. Rather than vibrant colors, a neutral palette is used to encourage viewers to contemplate the symbolism of rebirth and imagine their own interpretation of the process.

The Wing of Angel
2017, 2018
Acrylic, Feather, Spray Paint
52*21*18 cm
The inspiration for this single-sided capelet is from a Mandarin song called “Angel Wings” by Rainie Yang. The lyrics of this song encourage people to be brave in pursuing what they are eager and love. Despite the idea of combining angels with the hope being a cliche, we can’t deny that we are all yearning for having a pair of wings and follow our dreams bravely.
The meaning of adopting a single-sided capelet is to symbolize a strong desire of pursuing one’s life and love. It is like a one-winged bird that has lost one of its wings, but it doesn’t give up. Instead, it flies to the sky bravely!
