Mlima's Tale

Mixed Media / 2021

In the script, there were numerous scene changes, with the soul of the elephant traveling to many places through the ivory trade. However, I approached the story from a different perspective, focusing on the elephant's funeral as the main setting to convey the idea that everything happens under the elephant's watchful eye.

The use of a cube lift helps facilitate the changes in scenery. It can be transformed into a shipping container, an office table, a stage for a press conference, a swimming pool, or even a balcony railing in the apartment.

The material for the walls on both sides, extending from the elephant's ears, draws inspiration from African mud houses to incorporate an African element.
